Autoblog creates what's next in car shopping
Buying a new car is hard. Even if you have a general sense of what you want, the wide variety of models and features out there can be daunting.
Autoblog, Oath's industry-leading site for fans of everything on wheels, has created an innovative solution. Their coders and editors collaborated to create a next-gen shopping tool called Car Finder.
Car Finder allows shoppers to find their next vehicle in just a few clicks, by using simple criteria and a smart algorithm to narrow the field and then give you the choices that will fit your life best.
"We think Autoblog's all-new Car Finder will revolutionize the way users research and shop for their next vehicle," said Adam Morath, the site's Director of Business Management.
Instead of choosing from a long list of makes and models, prospective car buyers input their budget and their personal priorities. Off-road capability? Cutting-edge tech?
The tool then offers smart recommendations for specific models, leveraging the algorithm as well as the wisdom and research of Autoblog's editors, who drive hundreds of vehicles each year. Their top-rated models get an Editors' Pick designation.
User can keep their searches basic, or dig in deep on specific features like adaptive cruise control or Bluetooth.
"This is a better way to help most users start their car shopping journey," Morath said. "Instead of focusing on traditional categorizations, like vehicle body-style, car brand, or model—all of which might not mean much to the average car shopper—we instead get to know the user's needs first.
"From there, we can provide a custom set of results that transcends the unimportant criteria in order to pair the shopper with the perfect vehicle to meet their needs, within their budget."
Car Finder is one example of Autoblog and Oath's commitment to innovation and to putting users' needs first. Watch the video below for more details and try the tool out yourself here.
