Oath launches nine Employee Resource Groups
Diversity and inclusion aren't just nice to have; they are a necessity for any organization that wants to succeed in today's world. This is why one of our core values at Oath is Commit to Inclusion. But we know that action must follow commitment, so we're also making investments in the programs and people that will help to make us more diverse and inclusive.
We're proud to announce the implementation of nine new Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) at Oath to help make our workplace even more inclusive for all employees: BOLD (Black Organizers Leaders & Doers), elevAsian (Elevating all Asian builders), LIT (Latinos In Tech), Neurodiversity (Minds of all kinds), PACT (Parents And Caregivers Together), Prism (Lead with pride), United (Progress through unity), VALOR (Veterans & Advocates Leading Oath Responsibly) and WIN (Women's Inclusion Network).
Oath's ERGs were created to enrich the brand, culture and user experience by supporting development and retention for our diverse workforce, driving cultural awareness and competency across our workplace, and advocating for authentic engagement with our marketplace. The purpose is to create safe space for employees of particular identities and their allies to connect, support and advocate for one another. The ERGs also represent and advocate for more diverse perspectives internally - in our workforce, our leadership and our products.
While we are officially launching these groups today, the leaders of the ERGs have been working behind the scenes to forge connections, recruit members and lay the groundwork for a more diverse and inclusive workplace. For example, together with LIT we celebrated National Hispanic Heritage Month by honoring the histories, cultures and contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans at Oath and around the world, and with VALOR, we pledged a week to Veteran's Day to support, recognize and provide resources for our military vets.
We're excited and encouraged by the progress we're making in our commitment to inclusion but know the work doesn't stop here. As we move into 2018, we're looking forward creating more opportunities for our employees to build, thrive and succeed together.
