Tumblr Features “March for Our Lives” Stories
In light of the tragic shootings at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, thousands of young people are taking a stand against gun violence. On Saturday, students led the March for our Lives in Washington, D.C., and in more than 800 cities across the world. Tumblr livestreamed the event and curated first-hand accounts from those participating across the country, in what was the biggest site takeover in the platform's history.
Several other brands within Oath covered this historic moment. In addition to Tumblr, Yahoo News, Yahoo Lifestyle, and HuffPost delivered in-depth and expansive on-site reporting across their platforms. Readers followed along on Yahoo News and HuffPost liveblogs; and found in-depth, thought-provoking feature stories on Yahoo Lifestyle. MAKERS and BUILD Studios also covered the events and offered perspective.
The March for our Lives is the latest evolution of the #NeverAgain movement, started by the students of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in the aftermath of the tragic shooting at their school. For more detail about March for our Lives, visit www.marchforourlives.com.
We are inspired by the students taking a stand for change, and proud to provide a platform for their collective voices to be heard.
