Case study: Vivint Smart Home makes homeowners smarter with native ads

December 28, 2016

Vivint Smart Home, the largest smart home services company in North America, recently worked with Oath on a two-pronged strategy to drive engagement and increase sales with a native advertising campaign. Its goals were to:

  • Drive traffic to its website with extensive content
  • Drive adoption of its security and smart home offerings

By testing various article headlines and campaign creative with Oath, Vivint was able to achieve a CTR that outperformed industry benchmarks by 57% and, most important, garnered a 735% lift in sales during the campaign flight.

"We measure the success of a campaign by performance," said Quinton Bowen, Digital Marketing Manager at Vivint. "Our Oath investment has delivered strong returns and strong CPIs. We're excited for new opportunities to expand our partnership with Oath on future campaigns."

Based on the return Vivint achieved from the campaign, the company is looking to expand its advertising efforts with Oath by tapping into new tactics and capabilities.

"Native ads have been proven to help brands connect with their customers more effectively, and Vivint capitalized on this trend by working with Oath to make native central to its marketing strategy," said Leo Polanowski, General Manager, Mid and Emerging Markets, Americas at Oath. "With native ads through Yahoo Gemini, Vivint shared relevant content and articles with its target audience that not only increased engagement, but ultimately drove sales."
